Beth's Visit - the weekend

Friday - Lisa and I went up to airport to pick up Beth. Before we actually went to the airport, Lisa and I went to the mall and did some shopping. After picking up Beth, we headed back to the house and gave her the tour. Beth really wanted some liquor so we made a stop.

Either that or we stopped to get Megan some Stoli for her birthday (she's over 21, it's okay.)
After Megan got home, we headed out to the Piratz Tavern for dinner. (http://www.piratztavern.com/home.html) It was quite an experience. But we had a good time, and the food was pretty good.

Saturday - We headed down to the Mall/the Tidal Basin for the Cherry Blossom Festival. We went and did paddle boats. It was actually quite chilly out, but it was kind of fun. Maybe not for Beth or Lisa who ended up paddleing. after our time on the water, it was time to find something warm to drink and some food. we ended up at a food court where we could all get what we wanted. Luckily the Metro stop was not too far away.
We headed home and some of us watched The Pursuit of Happyness. It was pretty good. Then it was time to get dressed for dinner. We headed to Georgia Brown's for dinner. (http://www.gbrowns.com/) Megan likes Southern food and Saturday's they have a jazz night, another of Meg's favorites. It was night two of Megan's birthday extravaganza. [according to me, it was her best birthday ever]. Luckily the restaraunt is really close to the Metro. It was super cold that night!
Beth really liked her martini. (just kidding, the picture was taken after all the alcohol was out of the glass.)

Sunday - Easter! For some, the excitement of Easter was that they got to eat candy. Here, Lisa, Beth and I, got up and went to church at the National Shrine (http://www.nationalshrine.com/site/pp.asp?c=etITK6OTG&b=106948). The service was pretty good. Unfortunately the bulliten was not overly helpful to those who are not Catholic. And actually there were parts that the bulletin could have helped out those whose Catholic services are a little different than this service. Beth decided to use the church service to check out the cute preist sitting a couple rows in front of us. (Actually, we all noticed how good looking he was and wondered why he was in the congregation.)

After church we came home for some down time. Then headed over to Annapolis. We walked around downtown for a while. Found this little shop with some prom dresses. There were some real cute ones. Beth found some she liked, except for the gold sparkles, and the prices. Guess we'll be dong some more shopping this week.

Then it was time to head across the Bay Bridge for dinner. We went to the Kent Historic Inn and Restaurant. (http://www.kentmanor.com/)

A 3D weekend

So ever since seeing commercials for Meet the Robinsons I've wanted to see it. The bowler hat man and the dinosaur:
"why aren't you seizing the boy?" "I have a big head, and little arms" - hilarious!!

Megan read some reviews on the movie and someone said that the dinosaur part was even more funny in the movie. That person was right. I highly, highly recommend the movie. I don't remember the last time I laughed that hard at a movie.

The movie is being shown in 3D in some locations. We decided to find a location that was in the DC metro area. It was great in 3D. The only other 3D movie I've seen was at Disney World in FL. We even got cool glasses and everything.

If you have kids and were wondering if this movie would be appropriate; the answer is yes. There was a point where the dino appears to be running toward you, but other than that, it would be a great movie.
