February 2008 Ravenchase
So, the photo album link came in WAY bigger than expected.
Anyway, way back in February, Lisa, Megan and I, along with Lisa's friend Cassie, decided to participate in the 3rd Annual DC Cupid Sucks Game hosted by Ravenchase. Ravenchase puts on scavenger hunts. They give you a bunch of clues and a map. You solve one clue and it leads you somewhere on the map. At that location you find another clue that leads you to a piece of the final clue. Then you solve the next few clues. The February chase took place in the Dupont Circle area of town.
Sadly, we did not come in first, but neither were we last. (Bless their hearts!) And the race always ends at a drinking establishment, and first drink is on them, so it's more for the fun of the game.
In April, Lisa, Cassie and I participated in The Quest for the Golden Shrubbery, a Monty Python themed hunt in Annapolis. In this race we were seperated into 2 groups, experienced, and not so experienced. The prizes for the experienced group were 1) Gold SPAM (a can of spam painted gold and glued on a star) 2) Silver SPAM 3) Bronze SPAM. Prizes for the inexperienced group 1) a large fake topiary in a gold container (large as in about 12 - 18 inches tall), 2) a medium topiary in a silver container, and 3) a small topiary in a bronze. We were the 3rd team to the bar. So we thought that we'd get something, but we weren't sure if we were in the experienced group or not. Turns out, not. We won 1st place for the non-experienced group. It was so great! We can't wait for our next race.
